This study aims to analyze whether local election pledges in youth policy of the 8th municipal government in 31 cities and counties of Gyeonggi-do were established by reflecting the characteristics of the youth population in the region. By using ｢Employment Survey by Regions｣ and the ｢Gyeonggi Province Youth Household Survey｣, we categorized Korean youth population based on the income, education, and labor market status and analyzed the differences in living conditions and policy demands by type. We found that youth population can be categorized into three groups: achievement type, settlement type, and marginalized type, and they were different in living conditions and policy demands related to finance, assets, housing, jobs, and health. However, it turned out that local election pledges in youth policy did not reflect the socioeconomic characteristics of youth population in the region, so it is required to materialize the election promise reflecting the characteristics of the local population.
