The study attempts to investigate the relationship between social inequality perception and the government fairness perception, depending on residents in capital and non-capital area. The study illustrates the possibilities that residential regions might lead to differences in inequality perceptions on income, education, gender, and fairness perceptions on government. Using survey data on people’s perception of government’s role in 2019, the study performed regression analysis. The results note higher perception of inequality in income, education, and gender builds a lower perception of the government being fair. Also, it is more likely that residential regions have moderate perceptions of income and gender inequality and government fairness. Capital and non-capital area show different economic, social, and cultural environments. These regional distinctions would produce a difference in perceptions of social inequality and government fairness. The study results imply that understanding the regional and personal perception of unequal allocation of public policy is necessary to enhance the government fairness level.
